Most PDF editors only work on real text and give up on a scanned certificate or a photo of a form. PDFPencil reads it automatically, then lets you correct it the same way. On a grainy photo, automatic text detection can occasionally misread a word — when that happens, a manual box tool lets you draw your own box over any spot and type the correction directly, independent of image quality.
